Micah Johnson

Instructor, Sound Design

Micah’s career started at The Hit Factory in Miami in 2002 where he was a general assistant on several records and to several major-label artists. His experience at The Hit Factory was surreal. On any given day, all five studio rooms would be booked with artists like J-Lo, Missy Elliot, Genuine and Timbaland.

After working at The Hit Factory, Micah moved to Los Angeles to work at Capitol Records Studios as an assistant engineer. While in California, he also gained experience in post-production by working for Radio In The Nude, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and Widget Post, and Eargasm/Atlantis Group. During his eight years at Eargasm, Micah was the chief engineer for video games, national TV and radio commercials, podcasts, audio books, feature films, television shows, webcasts and more. He recently moved to Minneapolis with his wife, sound engineer Jaime Johnson, and their two children, to open Audio Artists, which specializes in post-production, voiceover, sound design and mixing.
