IPR College of Creative Arts Welcomes Accomplished Professional Peter Greenlund to Faculty

MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 20, 2015)IPR College of Creative Arts is proud to welcome Peter Greenlund as program chair of the live sound and show production program. Greenlund has more than 25 years of experience in live sound engineering, production management, systems installation and touring. He was the media director for Wooddale Church in Minnesota for ten years and has worked as tour sound technician for artists like Prince and Phil Collins, and as front-of-house engineer for The Commodores and Willie Nelson.

“We are thrilled to have Peter join our team. He will be a great addition to the rest of our talented faculty,” says Norbert Kreuzer, campus director for IPR. “We make it a priority to prepare our students for a career in the industry by giving them hands-on training from real professionals like Peter.”

Greenlund will serve as the chair of IPR’s Associate in Applied Science in live sound and show production degree program. Students in the program are trained to be audiovisual engineers and designers who are proficient in the creation, operation and planning of modern day musical, theatrical, event and corporate productions.

I’m looking forward to sharing the experiences I’ve had in my career with my students. I love to watch the excitement as they start finding their niche in the industry,” says Greenlund. “I hope to excite, motivate, encourage and challenge students to experiment with all elements of a live production, and how we as technicians can play an active role in creating that special moment that can happen during a live performance.

Greenlund is still very active in the music industry, working with national and international acts on shows, often on a weekly basis. Not only does Greenlund know the industry inside and out, but he also has an extensive background in education management as the department head for the live sound department at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minn., since 2000.
