A Free Concert For The Community at Minnehaha Park

August 20th, 2009- Minneapolis, MN- The Institute of Production & Recording Presents: Music in The Park, a free, public, all ages concert at Minnehaha Park. Featured bands include; Dred I Dread, State of Mind, My Brother Mary, and Independent Recording Artists, The New Congress. The New Congress will be performing songs from their soon to be released album, Anguish, Love and Romance, which features collaborations with Talib Kweli, Twista, and the Twin Cities first lady of spoken word, Desdamona.

There will be giveaways throughout the concert, including gift cards to local restaurants and retailers and items from prominent music equipment and software companies. Red Bull, Jimmy Johns, and Vitamin Water will also be on site. Dollar menu items will be sold with all proceeds donated to The Jackie Lee Robinson Foundation, a non-profit organization that operates the IdeaWerks youth program. Visit to learn more.

Minnehaha Park is one of the oldest and most popular parks in Minneapolis. It is located at the intersection of Hiawatha Avenue and Minnehaha Parkway. The 193-acre park features a 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs and overlooks the river. Contact 612-230-6400 for more information on the park.
