IPR Instructor Awarded National Forensics League Summer Coaching Scholarship

IPR Instructor Bethany Piety is also the director of the speech program at Edina High School. She has been awarded a Coach Workshop Scholarship from the National Forensics League (NFL) to attend the Gustavus Adolphus Summer Coaching Institute. This is a competitive scholarship awarded to outstanding speech and debate coaches. Bethany was one of only 28 recipients from across the country. Please congratulate her when you see her.

For those who don’t know Bethany, she teaches CM140, Face to Face Communication, and she’ll be teaching Intercultural Communication next quarter.

About her award she says:  “Minnesota is one of the most competitive places to coach speech, so I consider it an honor to be a recipient of the scholarship. The training I get at the camp I will be attending will not only benefit my students at Edina High School, but also the students at IPR.”

The NFL’s Coach Scholarship Program enables NFL coaches to receive training from the nation’s top speech and debate educators during their summer break.
