The EDU Film Festival aims to provide young filmmakers with an authentic film festival experience, a valuable understanding of the film industry, and an opportunity to see their movies play on the big screen.

The festival features panel presentations, a filmmaker’s lounge, an awards ceremony, and this year screened over 70 short films by Minnesota teens. IPR is the presenting sponsor for the EDU Film Festival and through both monetary and in-kind donations has insured that the event remains free so that young filmmakers from all socioeconomic backgrounds have equal access to this unique experience.

IPR Campus Director Stacy Severson remarks, “this is a very positive partnership for IPR, we are thrilled to help provide access and opportunity for the students to present their work and share it with a community in an outstanding setting.”

In addition to screening over 70 high school student films, the event featured the IPR “Next Level” Showcase with six Digital Video and Media Production student and staff films, as well as a professional panel presentation featuring Josh Stifter, who was recently featured in Robert Rodriguez’s television show Rebel Without a Crew.
