What started out as a field trip to a St. Paul feature film set turned into a career-building opportunity for two IPR digital video and media production (DVMP) students.
Production Management Instructor Troy LaFaye arranged for his class to visit the set of “Forgotten,” a ghost story starring Kiersten Warren (“Independence Day,” “Bicentennial Man”), Francesca Eastwood (“True Crime,” “Jersey Boys”), and Federico Dordei (“2 Broke Girls,” “Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo”).
When LaFaye and his students reached the location, they were excited to see that several digital video and media production graduates from IPR’s sister school, Minnesota School of Business (MSB), were at work on set. Seth Black (MSB digital video) was working as Boom Operator Robin Bakke (MSB digital video and IPR music and entertainment business) was working in wardrobe, and Sid Pranke (MSB digital video) was providing craft service.
Even more exciting, after touring the set, DVMP students Lindsey Lucht and Deshawn Townley were enlisted to help out on the production for the day. Their work as stand-ins and production assistants led to an invitation to return the next day and an eventual offer of an internship during IPR’s spring break.
“Forgotten” is a Minnesota Snowbate project and is being shot in various Minneapolis/St. Paul locations. It is directed by Joel Soisson, written by Philip Fracassi and produced by Mike Leahy.
