Karaoke Killer

The Institute of Production and Recording (IPR)- Downtown Minneapolis Campus’ Bus
iness Communication and Networking students, advised by Scott “Scooter” Nelson, hold a student organized event every quarter.  This quarter, one of the classes coordinated a karaoke event that happened in the 1st Floor Commons on February 28.  As a result of this event, a bin full of non-perishable goods for the IPR Food Shelf was collected and $150 was raised to keep it thriving into the future as a resource for IPR students.

The 1st Floor Commons was packed with captivated students watching their peers sing their hearts out to their favorite tunes filling their bellies with delicious BBQ donated by Dre.  The first prize winner was Eric Grunden who walked away with a SM57 Microphone.  After he won, he elated, “Yes!  I needed one of these.”

The proceeds from this event benefitted the IPR Food Shelf which helps students who are in need of food in emergency situations.  To learn more about please contact Karah Barr in the Student Services Department
