Posted by Erica West on November 14th 2008 in Information, Announcements

Important 09WIN Registration Information

By now you’ve probably noticed the signs posted around campus, and have seen people plotting and planning their schedules for next quarter.  You only have about a week and a half left to register without paying a late fee, and 70% of you have already scheduled for next quarter. That is outstanding; well done!

Because so many students have already registered, many classes are already full, and others are filling up quickly. If you haven’t registered yet, get in to the Registrar’s Office and take care of business, before you miss out on important classes/preferred sections for the quarter!
Please note:

Only 7 seats remain in AP200 (Audio Production II). First quarter students who have not yet registered for their second quarter should start registering for AE200 (Audio Engineering II) instead.

The following classes and sections are already full:
AE200LAB-6
AE209-L
AE209LAB-1
AE245-1
AE250LAB-2
AE281-1
AE282LAB-2

LATEST FROM THE LIBRARY

Congratulations to Matthew McLane for answering the trivia questions about the 1968 War Protest in Chicago during the Democratic National Convention. Matthew walked outta here with a brand new CD. The name of which I have since forgotten but he seemed happy.

My people: if you have checked out a CD, you must, must, must check your IPR email account for a message from moi asking “Whaddup” with your overdue material. Please don’t make me put holds on your records. It hurts me more than it hurts you.

“Let It Blab” music chat group will meet on Tuesday, November 18th at 11:30 in the back room of the library. Bring a favorite song. We’ll listen. We’ll chat. We’ll eat.
I’ll start hanging posters as reminders next week. Look for Lester Bangs!

GOOD LUCK WITH FINALS! A’LL Y’ALL ROCK.

See you in the library!

JACK “BLACKJACK” ROBINSON

Jack Robinson was a teacher: helping students to define their powers and abilities. Jack Robinson was a visionary: synthesizing ideas and incorporating breaking technologies while continually exploring new methods of marketing. Jack Robinson was a friend: cultivating relationships with all the lives he touched, and always pushing for the best in people has well as himself. Jack Robinson passed away in 2004, and although his physical presence is gone, his spirit is very much alive here at the school. Jack, we miss you.

Known throughout the industry as Jack “Blackjack” Robinson, Jack had over 20 years of experience as an artist, session musician, engineer, producer, studio owner, and educator. His album credits include work with Prince, Larry Graham, Brandy, Monica, Ann Nesby, and Rahzel of the Roots. Countless tours took him across the country as a front-of-house engineer, and around the world as a performer. Jack’s educational experience includes working as a teacher and curriculum developer for Music Tech College as well as his own distance education program: the Electronic Musician’s Workshop (EMW).

Jack owned and operated The Electronic Musicians Workshop, as well as his own recording studio for more than ten years. At EMW he taught music production, audio engineering, music business, music theory, songwriting and digital video production. Jack Robinson’s goals were centered around getting music back on the minds of youth; an inspiration to anyone wanting to get into the industry as a self-created entrepreneur and artist.
