Steven’s Community is a community of 23 ivy-covered brownstones located in the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation District. It is surrounded by landscaped gardens and is just a few blocks from downtown Minneapolis. Steven’s Community is convenient to major freeways, public transportation, and the skyway system. It is easy to get to IPR on the bus or your bike and is walkable in about 30 – 40 minutes.

Rivergate is located right along the river in the Warehouse District of downtown Minneapolis. It is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, entertainment venues, movie theatres – essentially anything downtown has to offer! The building is also a mere five minute walk from IPR. Even the most faint of heart can handle that in the winter!

A few other notable perks of Rivergate include on-site management, a huge community room with a big-screen television, and a concierge. The Hawthorne is located mere blocks away from the heart of downtown. It is possible to walk to practically anything you could want – food, entertainment, shopping, and even school! IPR is a 20 to 25 minute walk away or a short bus or bike ride. The Hawthorne is an ideal place to live for those on a strict budget. The building has a policy that if your income is less than $16,150 per year, your rent is only $410. If your income is between $16,150 and $26,950, your rent is $510. The apartments are all studios and are newly remodeled.

For those that intend to spend most of their waking hours in the studio, the Hawthorne is an excellent choice. Please note that according to law, buildings like this cannot exceed a certain percentage of tenants in each category. Therefore, an open apartment may have to be rented at the $510 price if the $410 percentage is at its limit, regardless of the income you report. But that’s still a great deal!

Stone Arch Apartments offer more than 40 different floor plans, each with spacious living in mind. Some apartments are walk- ups with private entrances and patios. St. Anthony Villageasks for a 12 month lease, it may be possible to negotiate a shorter term if you move in during the winter months. It is harder for apartment buildings to get people to move in during the winter, so they are sometimes willing to be more flexible. St. Anthony Village is close to restaurants such as Panera, Chipotle, Bruegger’s Bagels, and plenty of others, as well as grocery and retail stores.

Many of these places are within a 6 – 8 block walking distance. Go just a few blocks further and you are at the St. Anthony riverfront with music venues and even more food. During the warm months, there are also festivals along the riverfront.

Park Trailsis situated on a beautiful nature reserve with jogging trails. Across the street is the the Saint Louis Park Rec Center that includes a water park with water slides, an outdoor skate park, two indoor skating rinks, a sand volleyball court, and more!
