Logic 301: Advanced Techniques in Logic Pro 8
This course teaches real-world techniques for music production and editing, mixing, notation and scoring to picture with Logic. Throughout the class, students learn numerous professional secrets for streamlining production workflows and constructing a mix to meet strict industry standards. Experienced Logic users and newcomers alike will learn valuable methods for manipulating tempo and pitch, fine-tuning audio and MIDI tracks, processing MIDI data, managing signal flow, assigning physical controllers and getting the most out of Logic’s software instruments.

Who should attend
This class is designed for those who already have a working knowledge of Logic Pro. Beginning Logic users should take the Logic 101 course, which is best suited for those who prefer hands-on, interactive instruction. Please note that this course does not cover all lessons in the book, but it does completely prepare students to pass the Logic Pro 9 Level Two exam. Students are free to complete the lessons not covered in the course on their own.
Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
- Basic knowledge of Mac OS X
- Basic knowledge of audio terminology is required
Level One Logic Pro 9 End-User Certification* is required before you can earn Level Two Logic Pro 9 End User Certification. Ideally, students will have attended a Logic 101 course before enrolling in this course.
*Logic Certification testing is administered through Apple, and certification is awarded at the sole discretion of Apple. In addition to IPR’s requirements, successful completion of Apple’s online examinations are required for continued progress in this course sequence.
