Master Mix Studios
IPR’s original Master Mix Studio debuted in 1999 and is considered one of the premier recording facilities in the Midwest. Nationally recognized recording artists have used the studio, including Sheila Ray Charles, Meat Puppets, Lucinda Williams, Neil Diamond, Yumi Matsutoya, Ricky Martin, Johnny Lang, Soul Asylum, The Proclaimers, Next and Mudvayne.
In 2009, the equipment was upgraded to Avid’s 48-channel Avid ICON|ES console. In 2012 the original room was expanded into two bigger and better studios. The rooms continue to feature a massive Pro Tools HD|5 Accel system, a soul-shaking custom KRK 15K-A5 main speaker system and a list of vintage and modern microphones, instruments and outboard sound processing equipment. IPR students are given the unique opportunity to learn hands-on in this studio and take the room for a spin under the tutelage of respected producers and engineers.
