Recap of IPR Presents: Groove. Congratulations to They CallMe Bo winner of the Beat Battle and Young Slaya winner of the MC Battle! !

Thank you to everyone who came out in support of Groove last night at the Triple Rock! Big props to Student Services Coordinator, Joe “Avey” Sadowski for coordinating a hugely successful first ever Groove event. Congratulations to They CallMe Bo (AKA Elgin Thrower) winner of the Beat Battle and Young Slaya (AKA Laya Aguilar) winner of the MC Freestlye Olympics. Also a shout out has to go to Prince Jamal Mack for organizing and being the MC for the Free Style Olympics, DJ Blaze One (AKA Paul Znascko)for keeping the night going with the 1’s and 2’s as well as Chee (AKA Archie Adekoya) and Mug B for delivering two hard hitting musical performances. Oh…and I almost forgot to thank our very special guest judge for the Beat Battle INF.Cyanide (AKA Sidney Johnson) and our faithful resident IPR photographer Jessica Hegland (AKA Jessica Hegland).
I’ve taken away some fond memories of the impromptu dance battle that was led by Diosnel Campoalegre, Elgin Thrower, Frankie Bibiloni, Zack Miller, Reid Diebel, Hannah Aspensen, and even alumni Andy Joseph got in on the action.

After all was said and done it was a great event and we even managed to raise $110.00 from the door proceeds which will allow us to purchase more items for the IPR food shelf resource.

Thanks for letting me judge the Beat Battle and make a quick appearance at the end of the dance battle…I had a great evening!
