IPR Presents: Music in the Park!

A Free Concert for the Community at Minnehaha Park

The Institute of Production & Recording (IPR) presents Music in the Park on Friday, August 19th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The public is invited to this free, all-ages concert at Minnehaha Park’s bandstand, located at 4825 Minnehaha Avenue South in Minneapolis. Featured groups include: The Road Crew, The Bruce McLaughlin Band and Bunny Clogs featuring: Adam Levy (IPR Faculty member and front man for the Honey Dogs) and Terrell Woods A.K.A. Carnage “The Executioner”.

Bunny Clogs is Adam Levy’s (Honeydogs, H $ B, Liminal Phase) family music side project. His critically acclaimed debut effort, “More! More! More!” merged his love of danceable, funky sounds of the 60’s, 70’s and ‘80’s with poetry reminiscent of Shel Silverstein.  Try imagining a desert island with Prince, Sesame Street, The Beastie Boys, and Blues Clues.  He will be joined on stage for this special show by his 10 and 12 year old daughters Ava Bella and Esther and hip hop beatbox phenom Carnage the Executioner.

IPR’s very own Bruce McLaughlin is set to perform with his newly formed band The Bruce McLaughlin Band.  They recently performed the IPR Student Music showcase at the Fine Line Music Café, which was their debut performance and they brought down the house.  This veteran rock quartet is sure to pound out another adrenaline fueled show.

With more than a decade of successful experience teaching music, The Paul Green School of Rock is the national leader in music education for kids ages seven to 18. Students learn from professional musicians in an interactive environment combining weekly private lessons and structured group rehearsals with the ultimate goal to perform live for real crowds.

This is an outdoor event with plenty of seating provided by the park; however, don’t hesitate to bring a blanket and a picnic basket to lounge on the grass with friends.  Complimentary water and soda will be provided by The Institute of Production & Recording.  Several local businesses will also be on-site for this event including: Rhymesayers Entertainment, The School of Rock, Guitar Center, Foxtone Music, Fried Balonae Vintage Clothing and Shuga Records with many more still to be announced.  Also, Minnehaha Falls is also home of The Sea Salt Eatery which features the freshest fish in town.  A list of menu items include Po’Boy sandwiches, Calamari, oysters on the half shell, catfish fingers, shrimp, tilapia, fresh seafood tacos, fried fish sandwiches among a host of locally brewed beers and a selection of fine wines.

See you at the Park!
