IPR to Host Event Showcasing Women in the Entertainment Industry

MINNEAPOLIS (May 8, 2015) – Although the entertainment industry has been mostly male-dominated, there is a place for women to succeed. To educate the public on the significant contributions women make to the field, IPR College of Creative Arts will host “Breaking the Glass Ceiling,” a panel discussion and networking event, on Tuesday, May 12 at 11:30 a.m. The panel will be comprised of seven professional women in the entertainment industry who will share personal stories about where they came from, obstacles they overcame and what they are doing now. There will also be a meet and greet with the women and a tour of the IPR campus.

·         Julie Gardeski – SSL recording console technician & audio engineer 

·         Sonia Grover – booking manager, First Avenue

·         Youa Vang – writer & blogger, City Pages 

·         Lucinda Winter – executive director, Minnesota Film & TV Board
