IPR is excited to announce the new Sound Design for Visual Media, Associate of Applied Science in Media Arts degree.
This hands-on program immerses students in the world of professional sound design for film, television, video games, and internet media. Students will acquire the necessary skillset to meet the challenges of large-scale audio/visual media projects through advanced sound design, synchronization, sound effects creation, field and location audio recording, boom operation, ADR recording and editing, Foley recording and editing, the creation and recording of music for visual media programs, and the audible mixing of these elements together.
Students become intimately engaged with projects, and learn the value of detailed, aesthetic decision making. Required projects teach important organizational skills including the logging and archiving of media materials, and learning the necessary skills to advertise and market a final product. From small-scale, low-budget independent film and documentaries to multi-million dollar feature films and video games, graduates are well equipped for this unique and rewarding industry.
