IPR Hosts Loft Literary Center Event

The event “Dynamic Duos: Words and Music,” brought IPR students and facility together with local authors who recorded passages from their work at the IPR audio studios. Gail Milstein, Loft member and IPR writing instructor, brought this opportunity to IPR and was our host for the afternoon.

IPR Student Cody Sullivan, along with Wendy Hoskin, Brian Keefe, Ryan Ogle, were instrumental to the success of the event.   Cody took the lead and coordinated student engineers.  Associate Program Chair Scooter Nelson collected original music, composed by IPR students, to serve as a backdrop for the readings.

Visiting writers chose a track for background music and read selections from their personal collection of prose and poetry.  IPR students bounced the recordings to IPR flash drives so each author left with a product that they can use on their website, to bring to book readings, or just to enjoy.

The Loft was founded in 1974 and is one of the nation’s leading literary arts centers. It supports writers and writing students with events, classes and digital resources.
