There’s some really good advice posted.

Here’s some advice for young drummers who are starting out or drummers looking to play gigs. Always work on learning new grooves and different styles. Be as diverse as you can. The more you know the more opportunities you will have. Work on the groove and time keeping more than anything because this is what the band looks for and what will keep you gigging. All the fast flashy chops/fills should be secondary because they wont land you a job if you can’t keep time or play a steady groove.

I am doing research for a thesis project I am doing and stumbled upon your blog. I think this might be pretty useful and directed towards what I am doing. I’ll bookmark this page and come back if I need to get a hold of you. Cheers.
